The Clean Energy Problem - Terrapower's Natrium Project

To be politically and financially viable, renewable power sources need to provide reliable energy, which is challenging when there is little sun or wind. One idea is to store the extra energy produced during intense sun or wind and use it later during periods of low sun/wind.
Terrapower's Natrium nuclear facility (located in Kemmerer WY, only a few hours from Logan) is seeking to solve this problem. Come find out how!

In this presentation, Healthy Relationships Utah facilitator Hilary Anderson shares what it takes to begin to build healthy relationships, plus practical skills needed to maintain that closeness and connection. Entrepreneur Leadership Series: Jess Larsen

Jess Larsen founded the Graystoke Group, a holding company that owns three businesses. The first, Graystoke Investments, is a commercial real estate fund focused on one-of-a-kind Airbnb resorts for action sports families near snowboarding mountains, surfing beaches, and national parks. The second, Graystoke Advisors, is a management consulting firm with special operations soldiers who teach leadership classes. The third, Graystoke Media, makes videos and podcasts for some of the largest media companies in the world, as well as for CEO’s and Investment Fund Managers. Jess completed the Harvard Business School program on Private Equity and Venture Capital before becoming the CEO of his last investment fund. He also hosts the podcast “The Jess Larsen Show on Innovation & Leadership,” where he has interviewed over 750 billionaires, movie stars, pro athletes, unicorn tech founders, and many other high achievers.

Digital Take Out features Political Science in Nuclear with Alum Ashley Naughton

The CHaSS Alumni Lunch Series has gone online! Join us for Digital Take-Out as we discuss careers with esteemed alumni. Listen in and participate by asking questions during the live event on Zoom.   On Friday, February 17 at 12:30PM MST, we'll feature Ashley Naughton (BA International Studies ’16) for a conversation on Political Science majors working in the nuclear industry. Ashley Naughton is a Technical Project Manager for Los Alamos National Laboratory. This historic laboratory, where the Manhattan Project was established, is federally-funded institution that focuses on nuclear research and development to advance national security. Ashley graduated from Utah State University in 2016 with a degree in International Studies and was a member of Theta Nu Xi sorority. USU provided her with the skills and experience to become a strong professional within the nuclear industry. As a native New Mexican, Ashley is happy to be back in her hometown and can be seen hiking with her dogs or enjoying a delicious red chile breakfast burrito.  Listen in and participate by asking questions during the live Zoom event on February 17 at 12:30PM MST.
