Paper & Clay is a national juried exhibition open to all BFA & MFA printmaking and ceramic students across the country. This year’s exhibition showcases 54 exceptional contemporary student works from 20 various academic institutions. This year’s juror is printmaking artist and University of Minneapolis professor Jenny Schmid.

The reception for the exhibit is on Thursday, Feb 16, from 5 – 7 PM.

The Clean Energy Problem - Terrapower's Natrium Project

Panel Discussion/Presentation

To be politically and financially viable, renewable power sources need to provide reliable energy, which is challenging when there is little sun or wind. One idea is to store the extra energy produced during intense sun or wind and use it later during periods of low sun/wind.
Terrapower's Natrium nuclear facility (located in Kemmerer WY, only a few hours from Logan) is seeking to solve this problem. Come find out how!

Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic is a parody. This comedy follows the escapades of a group of student wizards who have not been the hero of their own story.

Playwright Matt Cox describes these characters as "Funny, intelligent, silly, heartwarming, a little worn and slightly ignored."

It's time for the "losers" of this magic school to rise!

Please join us for the Ecology Center's fourth coding workshop in our workshop series: "Tidyverse() and Data Wrangling" on Tuesday February 14th from 3:00-5:00 pm MT in NR 217. Getting data organized is a key first step of any research project, and this workshop is for folks who want to learn easy and quick data manipulation and wrangling tools from the tidyverse() package (including the %>% function), and those who are curious about the R visualization capabilities of ggplot(). We will cover: a) what is the tidyverse? b) useful functions to know for data wrangling, subsetting, manipulating, and summarizing c) best practices for data wrangling d) a brief intro to plotting data

Entrepreneur Leadership Series: Jess Larsen

Jess Larsen founded the Graystoke Group, a holding company that owns three businesses. The first, Graystoke Investments, is a commercial real estate fund focused on one-of-a-kind Airbnb resorts for action sports families near snowboarding mountains, surfing beaches, and national parks. The second, Graystoke Advisors, is a management consulting firm with special operations soldiers who teach leadership classes. The third, Graystoke Media, makes videos and podcasts for some of the largest media companies in the world, as well as for CEO’s and Investment Fund Managers. Jess completed the Harvard Business School program on Private Equity and Venture Capital before becoming the CEO of his last investment fund. He also hosts the podcast “The Jess Larsen Show on Innovation & Leadership,” where he has interviewed over 750 billionaires, movie stars, pro athletes, unicorn tech founders, and many other high achievers.

Symphonic Band

Concerts are part for the band large ensembles curriculum. As capstone events, they typically occur twice per semester. Students are required to participate in these events as a large part of their grades, and these concerts are the culmination of several weeks of classroom rehearsals. All concerts are associated with one or more of the following band ensembles MUSC 4700 Wind Orchestra, MUSC 795 Wind Symphony, MUSC 3790 Symphonic band, MUSC 3785 Marching Band.
