Fair/Festival
Established by Presidential Decree in July 2018, Fridays are proclaimed as "True Blue Aggie Friday" and all faculty, staff, alumni, students, and Aggie Family members are encouraged to wear apparel bearing the colors and insignia of the university on those days!
Tiny House Exhibit / Interior Design and Architecture Program
Arts/Entertainment
This exhibit shows a comprehensive project between Architectural Graphics I + II and CADD I + II. The project outline is simple: design a small residence for two people, approximately 500 sqft per level. The residence must have more than one level, be built in Utah, and meet all residential building codes. Students begin their design by abstracting an object, which then develops into architecture. The students create presentation drawings, a three-dimensional model, set of construction documents, and interior and exterior renderings of their custom design.

Alise King Exhibition
Arts/Entertainment
Alise King is an American photographer based in Salt Lake City, Utah. She received her Master of Arts in Fashion Film and Photography at the Paris College of Art, Paris, France in 2021.
Her photography focuses on portraiture while challenging the concept of gender and social constructs in today’s society. She creates work that comments on social consumption and the way it engulfs our day-to-day life. She aims to represent diversity and inclusivity in all aspects of her work while producing emotion through lighting and staging.
Still highlights the works created during her studies in Paris, France. Her collection of art showcases conceptual photography and videography discussing concepts of mental health, societal norms, inclusivity, consumption, and performance as well as the exploration of fashion photography and studio portraiture. The intention of Still is to showcase ways we are still growing, still developing, and still learning.
Little Lambs Scramble Golf Tournament

USU Army ROTC and Logan River Golf Course are hosting a golf tournament to raise money for the Little Lambs Foundation for Kids. All money raised in the event goes toward local families and programs with the Little Lambs of Utah.

We are excited to have Robin Ritch, the President and Publisher of Deseret News, as our keynote speaker. The CHaSS Alumni Lunch Series has gone online! Join us for Digital Take-Out as we discuss careers with esteemed alumni. Listen in and participate by asking questions during the live event on Zoom. On Friday, September 16, we'll feature published authors Alyssa Quinn (BA English ’16) and Stacie Denetsosie (MA English ’19, BS English ’16). The recipient of numerous undergraduate awards including the 2016 Creative Writing Student of the Year, Alyssa is a doctoral student at the University of Utah who just published her first novel, Habilis. Stacie received her MFA from the Institute of American Indian Arts and has a short-story collection expected to debut in 2023. She currently works as USU’s International Orientation Program Coordinator. Alyssa and Stacie have seen their work published in journals, magazines, and anthologies and are poised to share what it means to be a working fiction writer. "Towards Regenerative Place Making" The “Story of Place” is an inquiry framework used by regenerative development practitioners to identify the inherent potential of a place. By engaging a community in collaboratively unearthing the unique story of a place, we can build community cohesion around a common purpose. Patty will share how her land planning and design practice has evolved towards regenerative placemaking through a series of pivotal park and open space projects in northeast Ohio. She will illustrate how developing an authentic story of a place and integrating interpretation with physical improvements, reveals the story and builds place attachment. Grounded in the belief that place attachment can motivate positive environmental and societal change, her work suggests a need for a larger discussion about the value of place in our times and an expanded role for landscape architects as agents of regeneration.

USU Observatory Public Viewing Night
Special Event
Astronomy enthusiasts of all ages are invited to the USU Observatory to view the night sky through the observatory's 20-inch reflecting telescope. Admission is free. IMPORTANT NOTE: Please visit observatory.usu.edu PRIOR TO YOUR ARRIVAL on Friday, Sept. 16 for updates, as the gathering will be cancelled in the event of cloudy or inclement weather. The website also provides directions to the observatory and parking information, along with the planned viewing targets.
