USU Eastern Announces Date for Annual Blue Blast Block Party

By Marcus Jensen |

PRICE, Utah — Utah State University Eastern will throw its annual Blue Blast Block Party from 4-7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26.

The party, which will be on the first day of classes that begin fall semester, is a time for students to interact with fellow classmates, faculty and staff, community members and local businesses. The event is open to all members of the community to help welcome students back for the 2024-25 school year and introduce newcomers to the wonderful journey they can have in Price.

“Mark your calendars, bring your families and spread the word,” said Eric Curwen, director of Campus Life and Housing.

During the event, portions of 500 North opposite of the wave pool will be blocked off. The event will feature food from local vendors as well as games, a balloon artist, a photo booth and more.

“This is an opportunity for our students to get to know the community and all we have to offer,” Curwen said. “The community can use this as a platform to showcase the remarkable offerings of their businesses or programs. It is also a way to guide students toward potential opportunities while here in Price, including future jobs and careers.”

USU Eastern will provide tables, chairs and linens to all businesses that are interested in setting up a booth. To secure your spot, contact Allie Chamberlain (allie.chamberlain@usu.edu) prior to Aug. 21. In the email, make note of any specific requirements, such as power, extension cords or additional space needed. Bring marketing materials as well as a canopy for the booth.

Located in picturesque Price, Utah State University Eastern provides the best of both worlds for students– the personalized attention and small student-to-faculty ratio of a small-town college, with the educational opportunities and resources of a large university. USU Eastern boasts student government opportunities, clubs and programs like theater, choir, and the award-winning student newspaper “The Eagle”, as well as its own athletic program. USU Eastern provides personal or professional development training, technical education in Health Professions, Technical Careers and Business, as well as associate, bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees and certificates of proficiency.
