Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art Presents “Extrovision: Robert Winward Designer | Illustrator”

The Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art, located on the campus of Utah State University, announces a solo exhibition of graphic design by artist and Utah State faculty Robert Winward. An opening reception is planned at the museum Sept. 24 from 6-8 p.m., held in conjunction with the gallery walk organized by the Alliance for the Varied Arts. The artist will be present to comment about his work and answer questions.

EXTROVISION: Robert Winward Designer | Illustrator is a collaborative exhibition organized by the artist and the staff of the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art, a facility that receives operational support from the Utah Arts Council. The exhibition’s title is a reference to a client-based career as Winward explains. “Graphic designers and illustrators generally solve externally imposed visual communication problems rather than internally imposed ones.” But, he continued, “Graphic designers are not simply information translators with a personal voice in their work.”

The full news release detailing the exhibit can be found in the Utah State Today archives.
