Tanner Talk: Dr. Jen Manion "Anti-Trans Fervor in Historical Context"

A talk by Dr. Jen Manion, part of the LGBTQIA+ Health and History Series for 2022-23.
Anti-Trans legislation is sparking national debates about what distinguishes male from female and whether trans people deserve basic human rights. We have been here before. Female husbands – people assigned female who lived as men and married women – navigated similar challenges in the 18th and 19th centuries. What can we learn from their stories to help us in the present?
