Legacy of Val Day of Service: WAB Warming Center Pack Up

Student Activities

Join us as we honor the legacy of Val R. Christensen by lending a hand at the William A. Burnard Warming Center, Cache Valley's temporary overnight shelter for community members who didn't have a safe place to sleep during this cold, snowy winter. The Warming Center's season has come to an end, and volunteers will be deep cleaning the equipment and preparing it for storage, cleaning the room that was used, and moving furniture back into the room.

Volunteers should wear close-toed shoes, cleaning supplies will be provided. An optional car pool will leave from the bottom of Old Main at 12:45pm, but won't return until the end of the shift around 5pm.

Live Band Karaoke

Student Activities

Come enjoy a karaoke night with a fun twist - all of the music is played by a live band! If you've always dreamed of being a real rock star and singing on the big stage, here's your chance at a your first big show! Everyone is welcome to come. While you're here, take part in a huge raffle where dozens of prizes will be raffled off to raise money for the Utah State University Music Therapy Student Association, including a ukulele and gift cards to tons of local businesses like Morty's and The Crepery!

UPSTANDING Training

Student Activities

“Upstanding” is a bystander intervention approach for the prevention of a variety of problematic situations. The purpose of the Upstanding training is to prepare members of the USU campus community with the skills and knowledge needed to safely and effectively intervene when they sense a threat or potential harm to another. Threats could include sexual misconduct, drug and alcohol misuse, bias and discrimination, depression or suicidal thoughts, and interpersonal violence.

Students that attend will be entered to win one of our gift cards!

ASME SoapBox Derby

Student Activities

The Soapbox Derby is an annual event for students and community members to create soapbox cars to compete in a downhill, tournament-style race. Any four-wheeled, gravity-powered car under 300 pounds that fits in a 6'x4.5' box is welcome at this event. Creativity is encouraged!

Earth Week Consumerism Night

Student Activities

Beeswax wraps - Make reusable beeswax wraps to take home. These are a great alternative to plastic wrap and can be used to store food, cover bowls and are completely food safe. Succulents - We will be painting small terracotta pots and planting succulents to take home. This is a great time to destress and exercise your creativity while painting. Clothing swap (True Blue Reuse and Sustainability Club) 6:30-8 PM Clean out your closet, grab some friends, and come join us in an earth week clothing swap! Bring clean unwanted clothing, shoes, and accessories, and pick out some new-to-you goodies! Participants must bring items to contribute in order to "shop" the swap. Leftover items will be donated.

Legacy of Val Day of Service: Flores Family Community Garden/CRIC Garden

Student Activities

Honor memory of Val R. Christensen as we lend a hand at the Flores Family Community Garden. The work will be muddy and dirty, so dress accordingly! We'll be moving branches and rocks, pulling weeds, and maybe planting seeds. Bring work gloves, earplugs, and protective eyeware if you have it! We'll have a small collection of work gloves that you can borrow from. Optional carpool leaves from the east side of the Legacy Fields (the black parking lot) at 3:15pm. Let us know if you want to join the carpool by answering the question in this registration form!

Earth Week Celebration

Student Activities

We will be having a wide variety of events to look forward to including live music, outdoor yoga, a food drive, a plant swap, and a ton of local businesses to support. We will also be doing prizes for those who bring the most canned or nonperishable items. Outdoor yoga will be led by Rachel Quillen and we will have two 30 minute sessions starting at 11 and 12. Please bring your own yoga mat. Food drive - We will be collecting donations throughout the event until 12:30. To win, you must be present at 12:45 when the winners are announced and prizes are given away.

Sweat Day

Student Activities | Diversity, equity, and Inclusion

Sign up early so you can get your correct shirt size. For 3 hours you will sweat your butt off with Group Fitness Class having 30 minute duration and happening every 15 minutes and Spin class happening every 30 minutes. We will have a Wellness Station where you can get a drink and snacks for a short Break. Bring a friend along. Get a Sweat day shirt as well. A sweat day schedule will be provided the day of. Please come 15 minutes early if you can to get a warm in.

End of Semester Escape the Museum

Drone Racing on the Quad

Student Activities

USU's DroneWorx Club will be hosting an informal fly/race day on the Quad! Stop by to see home-designed and class-built drones as they fly through an obstacle course. These pilots will navigate the course using First Person View (FPV) video goggles. We will have a TV to display the live video feed that the drone sees as it rips around the Quad. If you have your own FPV setup, a camera drone, or a small fixed wing, we may have a space for you as well.
