Zions Bank President Announces Gift at USU's Edith Bowen Laboratory School

Zions Bank President and CEO Scott Anderson visited Edith Bowen Laboratory School 4th and 5th grade students April 29, National Teach Children to Save Day, and announced a $10,000 donation by the bank to support Utah State University’s Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services.

“Because money is a limited resource, we know that schools do their very best to stretch their resources for their important educational programs,” Anderson said. “We also know that the schools could use some help for these programs.”

Anderson’s surprise announcement was met with applause from 75 students, joined by teachers, parents and school officials, including Mark Peterson, Edith Bowen school principal, and Carol Strong, dean of the Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services.

Anderson and Logan branch manager Kevin Flint were among more than 230 Zions employees volunteering to teach 13,000-plus students in Utah and Idaho in honor of the National Teach Children to Save Day.
