Utah State University-Online Ranked Second for Affordability
Utah State University-Online offers the opportunity for students to earn a degree from just about anywhere.
Utah State University-Online landed the number two spot in the nation for most affordable online graduate schools for master’s degrees in a ranking done by College Choice. USU routinely ranks near the top when it comes to affordable tuition, including a number four spot for lowest tuition in Forbes’ “America’s Top Colleges” in late 2014.
“We know college is a big financial investment for families,” said Robert Wagner, executive vice provost and dean for Academic and Instructional Services. “USU offers a substantial bang for the buck in terms of quality education at an affordable cost, and our online graduate degrees provide access for those who may not be able to attend in Logan.”
USU-Online was also ranked 13th in the nation for its online bachelor’s and graduate education programs in January 2015 by U.S. News and World Report.
“Even though I wasn’t in the classroom, I don’t feel like I was missing out on anything,” said USU alum Brian Hays. “If I didn’t have online classes, there’s no way I could have earned a master’s degree.”
Hays graduated with a master’s in natural resources in 2014 while living in Canyonlands National Park and working as a park ranger.
According to College Choice, all regionally accredited schools with at least five online master’s programs were considered, and the total cost of tuition and all fees was calculated.
“With our ranking of most affordable colleges for master's programs, we have aimed to cut through some of the fog involved in determining the true cost of an online education,” said Jeremy Alder, managing editor of College Choice.
