Utah State Men's Basketball Garner a Vote in the AP Men's Basketball Poll

Utah State men's basketball received one vote in The Associated Press men's basketball poll, returning to the ranks of the nation's elite after posting back-to-back victories over San Diego State last week.

The Aggies snapped a pair of Aztec streaks during the process as SDSU had the nation's longest road winning streak, 13 games, and had not lost back-to-back games in 48 contests. Utah State's defense was on full display after holding San Diego State to season-low point totals of 45 and 59 over the two-game stretch.

USU junior center Neemias Queta was the mortar of the Aggies' defensive wall, as he logged a double-double in each game, turning in 14 points and 16 rebounds in the first game and 10 points and 10 rebounds in the second. Queta tied for a game-high three steals in the opening contest and then led both sides with five blocks in the series finale. Overall, Queta averaged 12.0 points, 13.0 rebounds, 3.0 blocks, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game, while shooting 64.7 percent (11-of-17) from the floor over the two-game stretch.

Utah State returns to the court on Tuesday and Thursday, hosting Colorado State (10-2, 7-1), in what will be another heavyweight encounter in Mountain West. The Aggies will be looking to maintain their unblemished record in MW play, opening conference with an 8-0 mark, their best since opening the 2010-11 season in the WAC 11-0.

Tuesday's game will be televised on CBS Sports Network (Xfinity Ch. 269/753 HD), Dish Ch. 158, DirevTV Ch. 221) and begin at 7 p.m. (MT), while Thursday's game will be televised on Fox Sports 1 (Comcast Ch. 265/HD691, DirecTV Ch. 219, DISH Ch. 150) and begin at 9 p.m. (MT).
