Utah State Expands Scholarship Opportunities for Transfer Students

By Ryan Jensen |

Starting fall 2024, USU will consider credits earned through concurrent enrollment or dual enrollment toward academic scholarship consideration.

Previously, only students’ post-high school credits were considered, not counting concurrent or dual enrollment. Additionally, Utah State has lowered the minimum GPA requirement for the Western Undergraduate Exchange Program scholarship from a minimum 3.0 GPA to a minimum 2.0.

“Utah State’s updated parameters will allow us to award even more transfer students for their academic achievements,” said Nicole Larson, senior admissions specialist. “Some of these students are currently in another college and looking to transfer, while others may be returning to college to finish a degree. No matter their path, we want to ensure USU is an option for them.”

Transfer students wanting to take advantage of these new scholarship parameters for fall 2024 should apply to Utah State by Feb. 1, 2024.

In addition to the updated scholarship parameters, Utah State is hosting a Transfer Day on Feb. 23, 2024. At this event, students can receive more information about USU, learn about financial aid and housing, take a tour of campus and enjoy some famous Aggie Ice Cream.

“Transfer Day is a great opportunity to get a feel for Utah State and make sure it’s the right fit for you,” said Abby King, transfer student ambassador. “Deciding where to further my education after attending Snow College was made easier by meeting current and prospective transfer students. I got all of my questions answered, became familiar with campus and knew that USU was where I wanted to finish my education.”
