USU's Science Unwrapped Opens 'Ch-Ch-Changes' Series Friday, Sept. 23

After a summer break, Utah State University’s Science Unwrapped is back with its new Fall 2022-Spring 2023 “Ch-Ch-Changes” series. The series kicks off Friday, Sept. 23, with the presentation “Lake Effects,” featuring USU alum and Brigham Young University ecologist Ben Abbott at 7 p.m. in the Emert Auditorium, Room ESLC 130 of the Eccles Science Learning Center on campus. Admission is free and all ages are welcome.

“With a nod to the late musical legend David Bowie, Science Unwrapped explores the science of change — including dramatic changes we see in our climate and environment, as well as a broad view of change from varied scientific perspectives,” says Greg Podgorski, Science Unwrapped chair, associate dean in the College of Science and professor in the Department of Biology. “We have an exciting lineup of speakers and great topics.”

Established in 2009, Science Unwrapped, the public outreach program of USU’s College of Science, welcomes inquiring minds of all ages to its family-friendly events. Each presentation begins at 7 p.m. with a brief talk in the Emert Auditorium (ESLC 130), followed by refreshments and hands-on learning activities conducted by student and community groups in the ESLC atrium.
