USU Wellness Programs Open to the Community

Community members may join summer classes and activities offered by the Utah State University Wellness Center.
 
The Wellness Center, located in the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Building, Room 109, begins its summer hours May 17, and is open 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The center offers treadmills, gliders and other cardio equipment, in addition to weights and a large stretching mat. Fitness assessments are offered to community members at a reasonable rate. Free blood pressure and percent body fat checks are also available.
 
Recreation passes for members of the community are $30 per month and include the HPER pool, Wellness Center and Fieldhouse (open summer 2010, noon-7 p.m., Monday-Friday).
 
USU’s Wellness Program offers a variety of summer fitness classes. A stability ball class began May 10 and continues through June 4, Monday-Wednesday-Friday, noon-1 p.m. Cost is $20 with USU ID and $40 for community members.
 
A six-week Fitness Club (boot camp/support group) runs May 17-June 17 and again July 12-Aug. 19. Three classes are offered each session (Monday, Wednesday, noon-1 p.m., Monday, Wednesday, 5:15-6:16 p.m. and Tuesday, Thursday, 5:15-6:15 p.m.). Fees are $20 with USU ID, $40 community. The fee includes a Be Well T-shirt and coaching.
 
The popular “Lunchtime Yoga with Dennise” class is offered May 13-June 17, noon to 1 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays. Cost is $50 with USU ID and $65 for community members. An additional “Morning Yoga and Meditation with Dennise” is offered May 18-June 22, 7-8 a.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays. Cost is $50 with USU ID and $65 for community members.
 
Water Aerobics is offered June 7-Aug. 20 and meets Monday, Wednesday, Friday, noon-1 p.m. at the HPER pool. Fees are $35 with USU ID and $45 for community members.
