USU Uintah Basin Raises nearly $16,000 for Local Scholarships

ROOSEVELT, Utah — Utah State University Uintah Basin hosted its annual Perfect Swing for Scholarships event on Sept. 9, raising nearly $16,000 to go toward local scholarships. The event took place at the Roosevelt Golf Course.

All of the money raised from the event will go toward scholarships to help grow the region’s workforce and aid leaders in earning their college degrees. The round of golf, hosted by the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business, raised money to be used in the form of scholarships, internships, and the USU Uintah Basin Entrepreneurship program.

"We appreciate all of our participants, partners, and sponsors for helping support our local business students," said Bob Peterson, associate director and director of students for USU Uintah Basin. "It's our goal to support the Uintah Basin community and the impact these scholarship funds have in students' lives translates into our local workforce."

USU partnered with the Center for Entrepreneurship to hold the tournament. There were 24 teams in the 18-hole scramble. STRATA took first place in the tournament, followed by Don Busenbark’s Team and Uintah Basin Medical Center.
