USU-Uintah Basin's Nursing Program Receives $25,000 Donation

ARMC CEO Ben Cluff presents $25,000 donation to USU-UB's nursing program.

Utah State University-Uintah Basin’s (USU-UB) nursing program received a $25,000 donation from Ashley Regional Medical Center (ARMC). USU-UB’s nursing program has continued to see positive growth thanks to the wide-spread community support from organizations like AMRC.

“We are very appreciative to Ashley Regional Medical Center for their support,” says James Taylor, Executive Director of the USU-Uintah Basin Regional Campus. “USU values our relationship with Ashley Regional and are taking aggressive steps to ensure that our nursing program exceeds their needs and the needs of all our health care providers in the Uintah Basin.”

Donations from AMRC, Uintah Impact Mitigation Special Service District and others in the community have helped to create important educational opportunities that result in better-trained nurses. The simulation lab is a result of the support, and allows nursing students to experience real-world scenarios in the state-of-the-art lab.

“We see our community development role as central to our mission as health care providers,” said Ben Cluff, CEO of ARMC. “We are committed to helping our local nursing programs have the resources necessary to insure we can grow our own nurses who will stay in our area and help ensure our hospital has exceptional nurses.”

USU-UB and the Uintah Basin Applied Technology College (UBATC), also supported by ARMC, continue to raise the standards for nursing education. The USU-UB and UBATC partnership, with the such a strong community backing, are fulfilling the high demand of nurses in the Uintah Basin.
