USU to Host Community Scholarship Training in Logan

By Ady Basurto |

Utah State University is excited to announce a training for organizations, businesses or individuals in the Logan community that offer college scholarships. The training will offer best practices and recommendations that can be utilized in scholarship awarding, including information on scholarship advertising, application processes, selection processes and award notifications.

“Our community has come together in so many ways, helping students to achieve their goals in higher education,” said Craig Whyte, executive director of Student Financial Support at USU. “USU wants to support individuals, businesses and foundations in their scholarship management by offering a training that is relevant, insightful and impactful.”

The Cache Valley community has provided significant resources to college-bound students, Whyte said. However, over the last few years, there have been significant changes due to the pandemic. USU will discuss some of the trends that are emerging and how to navigate challenges in scholarship administration.

The training will be from 5-6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, in the Taggart Student Center. For more information or to sign up, visit usu.edu/financial-support/community.
