USU Student Guitarists to Perform Guitar Ensembles Concert

The guitar area in the Department of Music at Utah State University is hosting a Guitar Ensembles concert on Nov. 13 from 7:30-9:30 p.m. at the Russell/Wanlass Performance Hall.

According to the event website, this concert will showcase USU guitar students playing a variety of styles ranging from rock, funk, jazz, classical and other genres on both acoustic and electric guitars.

Concert attendees can anticipate hearing three ensembles during the performance: the acoustic guitar ensemble, the electric guitar ensemble and the graduate guitar research ensemble.

The majority of students performing are guitar performance and guitar education majors, with the exception of a few guitarists who are majoring in other subjects at USU.

Students in these ensembles have been preparing for this concert since the beginning of the semester.

According to Corey Christiansen, USU Music (guitar) professor, guests can be prepared to hear “an eclectic mixture of musical genres centered around the guitar.”

Christiansen also said he hopes people might feel enlightened and happy after attending this concert.

Tickets for this concert are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors (65+). USU students, faculty, staff and youth can visit or call the USU box office to claim their tickets.
