USU Presents a Conversation About Civil Discourse with Aggie Alumnus Brent Hill

Aggies Think Care Act and the Institute for Government and Politics have teamed up to bring former Idaho Senator Brent Hill to campus Monday, Oct. 18, at 4 p.m., for a conversation about civil discourse.

Hill currently serves as the Next Generation Program Director for the National Institute for Civil Discourse. He retired from the Idaho state legislature in 2020 after serving 19 years in the Idaho State Senate, 10 years as President Pro Tempore, the highest-ranking member of the Idaho State Senate. Hill is an Aggie who earned a bachelor’s in accounting from USU. He frequently contributes to newspapers and other publications and is the author of the book A Matter of Principle, which explores the fundamental ideals that guided America’s founders.

USU featured Hill in the most recent issue of Utah State Magazine for his efforts with the institute.

Join USU for this event, either on Aggie Cast or in person in the President’s Hall in the David B. Haight Center. Pizza will also be provided, and those attending in person and online will have an opportunity to ask questions.
