USU Online Degrees Place Well in 'U.S. News & World Report's' 2014 Rankings

Utah State University–Online was recently recognized by U.S. News & World Report as the 48th ranked online bachelor’s degree program in the country. It was the only institution from Utah recognized by the magazine known for annually rating universities, businesses and other organizations.

“We have made great strides to become Utah’s premier online university,” said Robert Wagner, a Utah State University vice provost responsible for its online programming. “The university views online course and degree delivery as an integral part of higher education’s future. We understand the demands of our consumer students for flexibility and choices when it comes to pursuing a college degree.”

According to U.S. News & World Report, ranking criteria were based upon: student engagement, faculty credentials, peer reputation, student services and technology. More than 200 universities were ranked and included private, public and for-profit institutions.

Utah State University–Online offers eight online bachelor’s degrees, including communicative disorders and deaf education, economics and psychology. It also offers six online master’s degrees, and U.S. News & World Report ranked the university’s online education master’s degree programs 70th.  In addition to the degrees, Utah State University–Online delivers more than 350 online courses every semester to nearly 5,000 students in Utah and throughout the United States.

“As Utah’s land grant university one of our missions is to provide our citizens access to higher education,” said Noelle Cockett, Utah State University’s executive vice president and provost. “Our innovation and ability to leverage technology makes it possible for the university to literally reach every corner of the state and far beyond its borders.”
