USU Miracle Club Unites to Support Primary Children's Hospital, Looking for Leaders

By Marcus Jensen |

LOGAN, Utah — Utah State University is relaunching its Aggiethon club, which has been renamed the USU Miracle Club. This club is a philanthropic organization that focuses on raising funds for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and Primary Children's Hospital to support the critical health care needs of local pediatric patients. The club was originally founded in 2018 but was temporarily halted due to COVID-19.

The USU Miracle Club is looking for passionate, responsible and servant-minded students to serve on its executive board. This board is composed of student leaders that coordinate and oversee major initiatives of the program including recruitment, fundraising, morale, marketing, event planning and much more. To be eligible, students must be USU students through the fall 2023 and spring 2024 semesters. Applications for the paid director (management) positions on the executive board are now open and will close on at 11:50 p.m. Feb. 15, 2023. Chair positions will close in late March. Students looking to apply can visit the application page.

The re-establishment of USU Miracle Club brings with it the return of Aggiethon, USU’s Miracle Network Dance Marathon event serving as the culminating celebration of students’ year-round fundraising efforts in support of Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City. The Miracle Network Dance Marathon is the largest student-run philanthropy movement in the world and 100% of funds raised by students stay in the local community to support hospitalized children. The movement involves more than 400 colleges and universities across North America. Dance Marathon empowers students to become leaders and make a difference in the world. Involvement provides students with a hands-on service-learning experience that develops a sense of community, bringing students and organizations together from all across campus.

Miracle Network Dance Marathon is a program of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Donations benefit local member hospitals to fund critical life-saving treatments and health care services, along with innovative research, vital pediatric medical equipment, child life services that put kids’ and families’ minds at ease during difficult hospital stays and financial assistance for families who could not otherwise afford these health services.

While not everyone will be able to serve on the executive board, anyone can be a part of supporting Primary Children’s Hospital. Students can follow USU Miracle Club on Instagram (@usumiracleclub) and/or text GOAGGIES to 51555 to receive updates on events and the movement to change the health of children in Utah.
