LOGAN, Utah — Utah State University has joined a growing list of higher education institutions in partnering in the College Cost Transparency (CCT) Initiative. USU is the first school in the Utah System of Higher Education to be an approved partner of the initiative.

“As Utah’s land-grant institution, we seek to do everything we can to better serve Utah and our students,” said Craig Whyte, executive director of Student Financial Support. “Utah State University is committed to transparency, and our partnering with the CCT Initiative is another way we are showing this commitment. A college education is an important investment, and we want all our prospective students to have accurate information as they make choices about their postsecondary education.”

The CCT Initiative was created in fall 2022, when leaders of 10 higher education associations created a task force to develop principles and standards for clear and transparent financial aid offers. This transparency allows students and their families to make informed decisions regarding their financial obligations and educational choices. Approved partners of the initiative have proved to be in alignment with the principles and standards set forth by the task force.

USU is committed to transparency, fairness, accessibility and clarity in its financial aid process. As families and students look to tackle the challenges of college affordability and the complexity of financial aid, including federal aid, state aid, and institutional aid, USU is dedicated to helping students navigate the financial landscape.
