USU Extension Sponsors 7th Annual Celebrating Women Conference
By Julene Reese |
Utah State University Extension is sponsoring the seventh annual Celebrating Women Conference on Oct. 12, at the USU Campus in Kaysville.
Designed as an event to promote wellness and balance in the lives of women, the conference features workshops on topics including crafting for wellness, financial literacy, self-care, physical health and others.
Keynote speaker Shawna Lee, certified hypnotherapist and rapid transformational therapist, strives to create a safe and supportive space for women to connect, learn from each other and discover the power of their minds. Her topic is “Choosing Joy.”
The conference begins at 10 a.m. and features a pre-conference yoga and meditation session at 8:45 a.m. The event includes two sets of workshop sessions followed by the keynote presentation. Sessions are 45 minutes each with 30-minute breaks between that include craft stations designed as an interactive way for attendees to connect.
“We are excited about this event,” said Emma Parkhurst, USU Extension health and wellnessfaculty for Davis County and conference organizer and chair. “We have a fantastic lineup of speakers and we are confident those who attend will come away with information and skills to help them in all aspects of their lives.”
Tickets and information are available at celebratingwomen.usu.edu or by calling 435-919-1321. Registration is $25 per person. Everyone is welcome.
