USU's Ellen Newell Honored by Professional Grounds Management Society

Ellen Newell was recently elected and installed as the new treasurer of the Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS) during the Society’s annual business meeting held in conjunction with the 2002 PGMS Annual Conference and Green Industry Exposition in Nashville, Tenn.

 
Newell, landscape manager at Utah State University, also was honored with the PGMS President’s Award for 2002 in recognition for her work with the PGMS Green Star Awards and the Anne Seaman Memorial Scholarship. She was also featured in the November 2002 issue of Landscape Management as the magazine’s Grounds Management Person of the Year.
 
Founded in 1911, PGMS is an individual membership society of grounds professionals advancing the grounds management profession through education and professional development.
