USU Center for Community Engagement Creates Ivory Prize for Excellence

The Utah State University Center for Community Engagement and USU Advancement office have received funding from the Clark and Christine Ivory Foundation to establish the Ivory Prize for Excellence. The prize will recognize extraordinary, influential student accomplishments and leadership in community engagement. The prize provides $2,000 for the recipient or each co-recipient (up to two) and an additional $10,000 for investment in the program or efforts developed and implemented by the recipient/s.

“CCE is extremely excited to be partnering with the Ivory Foundation in establishing this prize that will not only recognize extraordinary student leaders but will also further USU’s community engagement efforts” said CCE Director Sean Damitz. 

USU students may apply for the prize at https://www.usu.edu/communityengagement/ starting Monday, Jan. 27.  Submissions shall be judged by extent of community impact and student leadership demonstrated by the project. Deadline for submissions is Feb. 17 and the awardee(s) will be announced by late February. The awardee(s) shall be formally recognized at annual CCE Community Engagement Celebration & Banquet April 21.

USU’s Center for Community Engagement was formed in 2013 with a mission to develop active citizens through community engagement and scholarship.
