USU Celebrates International Education Week

The Office of Global Engagement at Utah State University and the International Student Council co-present International Education Week, Monday, Nov. 14, through Saturday, Nov. 19.

“All are welcome to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide during International Education Week, Nov. 14-19, 2016,” said Janis Boettinger, vice provost and director for the Office of Global Engagement. “This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is an opportunity for Utah State University to prepare students and scholars to engage in meaningful international experiences and to advance intercultural awareness.”

This year’s theme is “Empowering Youth through International Education.” Events scheduled for Nov. 14-18 are free, and all events are open to the public. Tickets for Diwali, Nov. 19, can be purchased in advance for $13 or $16 at the door.

For more information about these events or the ISC, see the global engagement website.

The International Student Council (ISC) is one of the primary international clubs under the Office of Global Engagement. The ISC is a student organization made up of representatives from different countries. Their primary purpose is to unite all international students, promote cultural diversity and international awareness that reinforces the interests and the welfare of the international students. Global Engagement is dedicated to helping international students and scholars engage in meaningful educational opportunities during their time at Utah State University as well as helping students experience the world through Study Abroad partnerships.
