USU Broadcasting Students Garner 20 Awards

Broadcasting students at Utah State University received 20 awards in the Northwest regionals of the 44th annual National Student Audio & Video Production Competition of the National Broadcasting Society.

That’s the most awards USU students have ever won in the regional competition, according to USU broadcasting professor Penny Byrne.

Students in the USU department of journalism and communication produced the winning entries for three cablecast programs: A-TV News, Cache Rendezvous and Kickin’ Aggie Sports Show, according to contest coordinator Terry Reddout of Weber State University.

All entries were judged by professionals and will be entered in the national competition. National winners will be announced at the NBS convention in Chicago, March 27 through April 1, 2007.

NBS has 85 academic chapters nationwide. A complete list of regional winners follows.
