USU Athletics Teams Up With Special Forces Sports Foundation

By Sarah Murphy |

Utah State Today regularly highlights work created by the talented student journalists at Utah State University. The following story was published on AggieTVNews prior to its inclusion in Utah State Today.

In this piece, student journalist Sarah Murphy shows how Utah State Athletics helped host a “Special Forces Sports Day,” connecting Cache Valley students with special needs to Aggie athletes for an opportunity to try out a variety of different sports. The day was in collaboration with the “Special Forces Sports Foundation,” which according to their website, the organization’s mission is to connect special needs students with high school athletes, because they believe “both groups of students can learn valuable life lessons from each other.” According to a Facebook post by the Special Forces Sports Foundation, this joint effort with Utah State University was the launch of their first collegiate “Special Forces Sports Day.”
