The Arts at USU: December Events Preview
LOGAN, Utah – The Caine College of the Artshas prepared concerts and events to warm hearts and inspire the holiday spirit this December. Read below for more details about these coming events, and subscribe to the weekly events reminder email.
Symphonic Band
Dec. 2, 7:30 p.m.
Daines Concert Hall
Concerts are part of the band’s large ensemble curriculum. As capstone events, they typically occur twice per semester. Participation in these events is a significant component of students’ grades, and the concerts are the culmination of several weeks of classroom rehearsals. All concerts are associated with one or more of the following band ensembles: MUSC 4700 Wind Orchestra, MUSC 3795 Wind Symphony, MUSC 3790 Symphonic Band, and MUSC 3785 Marching Band.

Jazz Bands

Russell/Wanlass Performance Hall
Join us for an exciting concert featuring the award-winning USU Jazz Orchestra and the USU Jazz Ensemble. Jazz Bands will showcase a dynamic mix of classic and contemporary music for large jazz ensemble.
Wintersongs

Begin your holiday season with the USU Choirs as they perform in the beautiful acoustics of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Wintersongs, a cherished Cache Valley tradition, features stunning choral music, a candlelight processional, English handbells, and a magnificent organ, all set in a warm, festive atmosphere.
Christmas in Montpelier

Caine Lyric Theatre
"Christmas in Montpelier" is a stage adaptation of Ross Peterson's beloved book, showcasing the early life of one of America's most cherished history teachers. Through wry humor, a strong work ethic, and genuine kindness, Peterson's story comes to life in this captivating one-man show starring Richie Call. Join us to experience the magic of Christmas as it unfolds on stage.
Tri-State Band Symposium
Dec. 6, 8 p.m.

Daines Concert Hall
The Tri-State Band Symposium is an Honor Band Experience for the Tri-State's finest wind and percussion players and their directors. Annually hosting around 150 of the finest wind and percussion players from the region's finest high schools, this event has attracted students and directors from Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Wyoming and Colorado. It features internationally-recognized clinicians as well as the finest performers from Utah State.
Youth Conservatory Christmas Recital
Dec. 12, 6 p.m.
Russell/Wanlass Performance Hall
Join the USU Youth Conservatory for a heartwarming Holiday Recital, where young pianists will perform seasonal favorites. This festive event is a perfect way to enjoy the musical talents of our students and celebrate the spirit of the season.
American Festival Chorus & Orchestra Christmas from the Daines Concert Hall with Mat & Savanna Shaw
