At USU Uintah Basin, students have the opportunity to work in the laboratory of a faculty member for an eight-week, paid summer internship. During that time students have the opportunity to get involved in research and make hands-on discoveries. They also get to meet senior scientists from across the state of Utah to learn what scientists do and how to become a scientist.
Students get choose a mentor within the College of Science or Quinney College of Natural Resources for a summer project and are paid to work in their mentor's lab. They design a summer project with their mentor and the program culminates when students present their work to the USU Uintah Basin research community.
