Soccer Player Amber Tracy Named Big West, Utah State Player Of The Week

Tracy scored the game-winning goal in each of the team's victories against CS Northridge and Pacific

Soccer player Amber Tracy has been named the Big West Conference player of the week as well as being named the Utah State Athlete of the Week it was announced Oct. 6. This is the second straight week a Utah State soccer player has been honored by the Big West.

Tracy, a senior from Hyrum, Utah, scored the game-winning goal in each of the team's victories against Cal State Northridge and Pacific last weekend. Utah State is off to its first ever 2-0 Big West start in school history and has already equaled the program record for wins in a season with eight.

For the week, Tracy tallied two goals and two assists. With the assists, she surpasses teammate Ally Clegg on Utah State's all-time assists list. The goals give her a total of three game-winning goals on the year which ties her with two other players for tops in the Big West.

For the year Tracy has scored four goals to go along with six assists while playing in all 12 of Utah State’s matches. Her six assists are tops in the Big West, while her 14 total points are sixth.

The Aggie soccer team looks for its fifth-straight win as it faces Idaho on Sunday at noon. All home matches are played at Chuck and Gloria Bell Soccer Field, located on 1400 North at approximately 1100 East.

Football - Robert Watts... Made a game-high tying eight solo tackles in USU's 34-7 loss at New Mexico... Had two tackles for loss, including a sack.

Volleyball - Erin Cartwright-Davis... Led USU in losses to Long Beach State and UC Irvine. For the week she averaged 5.50 kills, 2.50 digs and 0.83 blocks per game. Vs. LBSU she had 15 kills, five blocks and four digs. Vs. UCI she had a match-high 18 kills and 11 digs.
