Salt Lake City Clear Channel Executive to Speak on the Future of Radio

Stuart Stanek, vice president and general manager of Salt Lake City’s seven Clear Channel radio stations, will speak Wednesday, Feb. 21, at Utah State University on “Radio: Past, Present and Future.”

Stanek will analyze the evolution of broadcasting from the Golden Age of Radio through changes brought on by television and other technological advances, and end with a look at the future of high-definition mass communication.
 
Corporate and political influences on content also will be explored.
 
Clear Channel, with headquarters in San Antonio, Texas, owns more than 1,000 radio stations in the United States.
 
Stanek’s talk is sponsored by the department of journalism and communication as part of its Media & Society Lecture Series.
 
The talk will be from noon to 1:15 p.m. in the Eccles Conference Center Auditorium. The public is invited.
