Nominations Open for 2022 Community Engagement Awards
By Marcus Jensen |
Each year, Utah State University’s Center for Community Engagement recognizes the work of those who are committed to outstanding service through the Community Engagement Awards.
This year, awards consist of three prestigious recognitions: the Presidential Awards, the Ivory Prize for Excellence in Community Engagement and the Val R. Christensen Service Scholarship. Nominations for the Presidential Awards close on April 8 while applications for the Ivory Prize and the Service Scholarship close April 1.
“We feel it is critical that faculty, students and community partners who have gone the extra mile and are working together in collaboration are acknowledged for this work,” said Kate Stephens, associate director for the Center for Community Engagement.
The Presidential Awards recognize the work of outstanding faculty, staff, students and community partners that exemplifies collaboration between USU and the greater community. The award is broken into five separate categories: faculty, staff, student, alumnus and partner. The Presidential Awards recipients are nominated by their peers.
The Ivory Prize recognizes extraordinary, influential student accomplishments and leadership in community engagement. Established by Clark and Christine Ivory and the Ivory Foundation and awarded by the CCE and the USU Development Office, the prize includes a $2,000 scholarship for the recipient or each co-recipient and an additional $10,000 to be invested in the community program or efforts developed by the student(s). Students can apply for the Ivory Prize here.
The Val R. Christensen Service Center awards two students with a scholarship for their community engagement and service. Students can apply for the Service Scholarship here.
