Nominations Now Open for 2023 Community Engagement Awards

Every year, the Utah State University Center for Community Engagement acknowledges the work of those who are committed to outstanding service through the Community Engagement Awards. This year’s awards consist of two categories: the Presidential Awards and the Ivory Prize for Excellence in Community Engagement. Nominations for both honors will close April 1.

“These awards are a great way for USU to highlight its commitment to the community as a premier land-grant institution and its vision to empower all people to lead successful lives of involvement, innovation and impact,” said Sean Damitz, executive director for the Center for Community Engagement. “There are so many individuals and organizations within the USU community that make a tremendous impact, often unsung, in the operation of this institution's mission.”

The Presidential Awards recognize the work of outstanding faculty, staff, students and community partners that exemplifies collaboration between USU and the greater community. The award is broken into five separate categories (faculty, staff, student, alumnus and partner). The Presidential Awards recipients are nominated by their peers.

The awards are supported by USU President Noelle E. Cockett and will be presented from 5-6:30 p.m. April 19 in an awards ceremony in the Sunburst and International Lounges at the Taggart Student Center.

The Ivory Prize is awarded to a student who has demonstrated excellence in community engagement through the development of a community-based project, program or initiative. Established by Clark and Christine Ivory and the Ivory Foundation and awarded by the CCE and the USU Development Office, the prize includes a $2,000 scholarship for the recipient (or each co-recipient) and an additional $10,000 to invest in the community project developed by the student(s).
