Investor Education Workshop at Utah State University

In today’s ever-changing investment environment, fraud, unfortunately, is a growing concern for many investors.

A free workshop sponsored by Utah State University’s Family Life Center’s Housing and Financial Counseling Services will address many of these important issues. Pairing with the Family Life Center as a workshop sponsor is the Utah Division of Securities.

Organizers say the four-part workshop is an excellent opportunity for individuals to learn about basic investing information, with an emphasis on avoiding fraud.

Workshop sessions will be taught by representatives from the Utah Division of Securities. Topics to be covered include saving and investing, financial markets, making an investment plan and investment fraud. Workshop participants will receive a free pack of information materials.

“The Utah Division of Securities is the organization that investigates investment fraud,” said Alena Johnson, Housing and Financial Counseling co-director. “The information provided will be professional, accurate and timely.”

The Investor Education Workshop sessions begin in October and are Oct. 5, 12, 19 and 26, 7-8:30 p.m., at the Eccles Science Learning Center, Room 130, on the USU Logan campus.

To register for the free Investor Education Workshop call (435) 797-7224 or e-mail flchfc@usu.edu. The registration deadline is Sept. 30.
