I'm an Aggie: USU Launches Statewide Advertising Campaign

A new statewide advertising campaign positioning Utah State University as a high-impact, transformative brand recently launched statewide. The Aggie Impact campaign initially features five 30-second ads demonstrating how Aggies affect their communities, nation and world.

“This campaign allows us to quickly communicate some of USU’s amazing stories with mass audiences throughout the state,” said Jay Wright, Student Marketing & Communication’s (SMAC) marketing director. “The spots step away from the cliché one-off ads often seen in higher education and focus on very specific things Aggies are doing to make a difference.”

According to Wright, Aggie Impact is a multi-screen campaign with ads running on TV, laptops, mobile devices and pads, as well as movie theaters along the Wasatch Front. Targeted audiences will primarily be in Utah and the Intermountain West, but the ads will also air nationally during Aggie football and basketball game broadcasts.

To keep the campaign fresh, two or three new ads will be created each semester. The first Aggie Impact stories cover:

  • Growing plants in space
  • Helping feed the world through genetic engineering
  • Helping children hear through cochlear implants and speech therapy
  • Making the world earthquake resistant
  • Helping the nation’s tallest dam recover from a near disaster
