Health Benefits Options Presented — Choose Wisely

Attention Utah State University employees. Once again, the open enrollment period for health insurance has begun and continues through June 30, 2003. During this time, benefit-eligible employees can make changes to their plan and update personal records. More importantly this year, however, all benefitted employees must choose between new coverage options: two plans known as the Blue Plan and the White Plan.

While the open enrollment period continues through the end of June, employees are asked to make a choice, Blue or White, and alert the Personnel Services Office of their selection by May 31. This will allow BlueCross BlueShield the necessary time to update records and issue new cards before the contract year begins July 1.

Employees should have received a packet from the personnel office in the mail. The packet included general information, plan comparisons and the necessary forms. If you have not received a packet, please contact Personnel Services at 797-0124.

To help employees better understand the differences between the two plans, Personnel Services staff have planned several educational sessions on campus. Please attend one of these sessions to clarify coverage options and to have your questions answered.
