Chris Cooley Listed As Nation's Top Tight End By CBS.Sportsline.com

Travis Cox, David Fiefia also ranked in top 40 in their respective positions

Utah State tight end Chris Cooley has been rated as the nation's top tight end by CBS.sportsline.com, while teammates Travis Cox and David Fiefia are listed among the top 40 in their respective positions.

Chris CooleyCooley, a senior from Logan, Utah, leads the nation's tight ends in receptions per game at 5.88 per contest. That figure ranks 27th for all players nationally. In eight games, Cooley has pulled in 47 balls for 559 yards and six touchdowns.

Only three other tight ends rank among the top 100 in the country in receptions as Mickey Peters of Texas Tech, 33rd overall at 5.70, Miami's Kellen Winslow, 36th at 5.67 and Virginia's Heath Miller 58th at 5.11.

Cooley's six touchdowns are second among the four players as are his 11.89 yards per catch and 69.88 yards per game. Peters leads in those three categories with eight scores, 13.19 yards per reception and 75.20 yards per game.

In the eight games he has played in, Cooley has recorded 28.5 percent of his team's receptions to lead the four players in that category. Winslow owns 24.6 percent of his team's catches, while Miller is third at 20.6 percent and Peters is fourth at 14.2 percent.

Cox, who leads the Sun Belt Conference in total offense and ranks 39th nationally, is listed 40th among the nation's quarterbacks. The junior from Hyrum, Utah has thrown for 2,329 yards already this year.

Fiefia, is listed as the nation's 37th-best running back. He ranks 17th in the nation in all-purpose yardage and 50th in rushing yards. He is coming off back-to-back 100-yard rushing games.

The Aggies continue their season hosting Troy State in their home finale on Saturday at 1:05 p.m.
