CCA Hosts Utah Symphony in Logan Featuring Brahms' Violin Concerto

By Bryan Stalvey |

LOGAN, Utah — Prepare for an evening of musical brilliance as the world-renowned Utah Symphony comes to Logan to present Brahms’ Violin Concerto. This event, hosted by Utah State University’s Caine College of the Arts, will start at 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, in the Daines Concert Hall.

The evening’s highlight will be a performance by Augustin Hadelich, regarded as one of the finest violinists of our time. Praised for his virtuosity, poetic expression and meticulous artistry, Hadelich will bring Brahms’ Violin Concerto to life in a way that promises to captivate both seasoned enthusiasts and newcomers alike. The concerto, a masterpiece of the Romantic era, is celebrated for its sweeping melodies, emotional depth and technical brilliance — a perfect showcase for Hadelich’s talent.

“We are thrilled to bring such a remarkable artist and program to Logan,” said Nicholas Morrison, dean of the Caine College of the Arts. “USU and the Utah Symphony share a statewide mission of service, and the college is pleased to host this world-class performance in the beautiful Daines Concert Hall.”

Made possible by the Tanner Trust for Utah Universities, this performance aligns perfectly with the Caine College of the Arts’ mission to enrich the cultural fabric of Cache Valley and beyond. Tickets are $10 for the general public and free for USU students, faculty and staff with a valid ID. Such accessibility ensures that everyone can enjoy a performance of this magnitude and would not be possible without the generous support of the Tanner Trust.

“The college hopes you and your family will join us for this very special evening,” Morrison said.
