CAPS to Host Stress Bust Event to Help Students Prepare for Finals Week

By Marcus Jensen |

LOGAN, Utah — Utah State University students, faculty and staff are all welcome to attend a self-care activity hosted by Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) on Monday, April 25, to help students get ready for Finals Week. The event will give students a place to hang out and destress with fun activities and to learn mental health skills such as relaxation, healthy thinking, assertiveness and more.

The Stress Bust event will be from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the northeast sector of the Quad, weather permitting, or inside the TSC 2nd floor lounge if weather does not permit. Included in the festivities will be therapy pets, games, art tables and a variety of mental health skill modules, including a special module on how to manage test anxiety. The module will teach students some great tips as they enter Finals Week.

All the events will be facilitated by CAPS REACH Peers, undergraduate students who are trained to help students to learn and practice mental health skills.

“Come join the CAPS REACH Peers for a healthy break in your day as finals approach,” said Monique Frazier, CAPS REACH Peer coordinator. “Whether you’d like to learn a valuable mental health skill or just relax and have fun playing a game, doing a craft, or petting a friendly animal, we’d love to see you there.”

CAPS’ mission is to embrace a holistic approach to student development by removing psychological, emotional, and behavioral barriers to learning and success. For more information, visit usu.edu/aggiewellness/mental-health.
