Cap and Gown Ceremony to Honor 2020 Graduates

Utah State University Alumni Association is welcoming the Class of 2020 home to celebrate graduation with a one-of-a-kind Cap and Gown Ceremony for its 2020 graduates, family members and friends Saturday, Oct. 23, at 2 p.m., in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum on the Logan campus. Graduates who cannot make it to the Logan campus are participating virtually.

Like other universities and colleges, USU had to postpone its 2020 commencement ceremony in the weeks after the COVID-19 pandemic hit the United States last year. The USU Alumni Association is honored to host this special event commemorating the important graduation milestone and celebrating the accomplishments of the Class of 2020 alumni.

“We love our 2020 grads for their resilience and perseverance, and while we can’t replace the commencement ceremony lost to the pandemic, we’re celebrating their amazing accomplishments as only the USU Alumni Association can,” said Kim Larson, associate vice president of Alumni Engagement and executive director of the USU Alumni Association.

The ceremony will include a short program, individual recognition of students and professional photos of each student. Special guest speakers include Class of 2020 Valedictorian Mealii Odum, President Noelle Cockett and President of the USU Alumni Association Steve Palmer.

Family and friends who cannot attend in person, can view the ceremony via the Aggie Cast live stream at aggiecast.usu.edu.

Class of 2020 graduates were also given special discounts on Homecoming football tickets and in-person and online purchases at the USU Campus Bookstore during the month of October.
