Cameron Cuch Named USU-UB Associate Director, Director of Students

Cameron Cuch will step in as Utah State University-Uintah Basin’s (USU-UB) associate director and director of students. With offices at the Roosevelt and Vernal campuses, Cuch will split his time equally between the two.

“I’m honored to be a part of Utah’s great land grant institution and serve my Uintah Basin community,” said Cuch. “I look forward to continuing USU’s mission of bringing higher education to the Uintah Basin while also looking to expand research opportunities for faculty, as well as internships and hands-on academic experiences for students. To address local workforce demands, I plan to create additional partnerships with industry, local governments and school districts to better address community needs.”

James Taylor, USU-UB’s executive director, has charged staff and faculty to work closely with Cuch to help meet and exceed educational and community needs. “Cameron’s background has given him the ability to lead and improve a team and those skillsets will be leveraged at our campus,” said Taylor. “I look forward to working with Cameron to grow our campus’s reach and to benefit our community.”

Within the realm of education, Cuch has extensive experience working with the Ute Indian Tribe as the education director and also as chief administrative officer at Uintah River Charter High School. He began his career in student services at Colorado State University. He has a background that includes more than ten years of executive leadership in the energy sector as well as serving in a variety of board member positions, such as USU’s Uintah Basin Advisory Council, and the University of Utah Presidents National Advisory Council.

He will begin work with student services, leading day-to-day operations as well as carrying out major projects. USU-UB’s student services has grown quickly, and Cuch will help develop, enhance and maintain the progress that has been made. He has also been asked to extend the university’s community relations and search out new opportunities for collaboration.
