Ten Utah State University students and recent graduates got to share their Aggie pride and experience what it’s like to be a television star this past summer, when makers of the online streaming series “The College Tour” filmed an episode in Logan.

The show gives viewers a glimpse of life at colleges and universities across the country. In USU’s episode, each student or alumnus acts as a virtual tour guide for a segment in the episode, talking about their experiences in and outside the classroom. Over the course of several months, they went through an audition and selection process, then wrote and memorized their scripts, and finally filmed their segments on and around the Logan campus with The College Tour’s crew.

“I knew going into it that all that work would have to be done, but all in all it’s been a really enjoyable experience,” said Lauren Palmer, a senior in international studies. “Loving Utah State as much as I do, it was just an absolute joy to be able to represent it in this way.”

USU basketball player Justin Bean saw The College Tour as an opportunity to step outside his comfort zone. “It’s hard, once that camera is on you, having to think back and really trust in the work you put in trying to memorize that script,” he said. “I usually do interviews after games with basketball, and this was a lot different. It was stressful, but it was a really fun experience, and I’m glad I did it.”
