Amber Marshall Named to NWSL Houston Dash Preseason Roster

Amber Marshall, who graduated from Utah State in December of 2020, has been named to the preseason roster of the Houston Dash, a member of the National Women's Soccer League. Marshall is one of 25 players on the roster that began training on Feb. 1 in preparation of the upcoming 2021 NWSL season.

Marshall was named second-team all-Mountain West a season ago after appearing and starting in every match for the Aggies in 2019. She led USU with 1,760 minutes played, appearing in all but 15 minutes during the 2019 campaign. Marshall anchored the Utah State midfield, playing as a holding mid throughout most of her career. While playing in the back, Marshall totaled 49 career shots with two goals and two assists.

The NWSL is a 10-team Division-I women's professional soccer league featuring national team players from around the world. The league is supported by the Canadian Soccer Association and the United States Soccer Federation. The Houston Dash captured the 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup and will look to defense their title when Challenge Cup matches begin on April 9. The NWSL regular season will begin on May 15.
