Alpha Chi Omega Wins 2020 President's Cup as Inaugural Greek Chapter of the Year

Alpha Chi Omega was awarded the 2020 President’s Cup as the inaugural Greek Chapter of the Year last week by Utah State University President Noelle Cockett. The award was part of the 2020 President’s Cup Award Ceremony, presented by USU Fraternity and Sorority Life. The sorority was chosen as the top chapter of the year based on its ranking in several award categories. The award will be given yearly.

“The Greek community has some of our strongest students – academically, socially and civically,” Cockett said in her remarks. “They are some of our strongest student leaders on campus. I hope this is seen as a tradition we can start this year and carry on into the future.”

The Chapter of the Year is based on excelled performance in the following categories:

• Academic Achievement
• Philanthropy
• Service
• Campus Involvement
• Greek Week

Alpha Chi Omega ranked first in campus involvement among USU’s fraternities and sororities, while ranking second in each of the remaining categories, finishing as the top chapter based on combined rankings.

“I am so excited that our community was able to reinstate an award ceremony with the help of President Cockett and former IFC President Hayden Vossler, who created the idea of the President’s Cup in 2018,” said Paige Eidenschink, coordinator for Fraternity and Sorority Life. “It was a great evening to recognize the outstanding work of our fraternities and sororities.”

The Beta Xi Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega works to build real, strong women through academic excellence, leadership opportunities, and sisterhood activities. The women of Alpha Chi seek to change the conversation around sorority through work with Domestic Violence awareness. It is the chapter’s hope that the women of Alpha Chi Omega leave Utah State University ready to make a difference in the world around them.
