Agriculture and Applied Sciences Names New Associate Dean for Research
DeeVon Bailey, professor in the Department of Applied Economics at Utah State University, has been selected as the associate dean for research for the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences.
“Research is cornerstone to this university and our college in particular,” said Ken White, dean of the college, vice president for USU Extension and director of the Utah Agricultural Experiment Station. “DeeVon’s appointment signals the continued priority the research enterprise is to our college.”
Bailey has been a faculty member in CAAS for more than three decades and has experience conducting and managing both research projects and Extension programs.
In his new role, Bailey plans to work closely with faculty members, research groups, departments and research centers to continue to strengthen current research initiatives in the college, UAES and USU Extension.
“My goals will focus on enhancing opportunities now and into the future for CAAS, UAES and Extension faculty to preserve and expand outside funding and to publish their research findings,” he said.
Bailey will start in his new position July 1, 2014.
