The Turkey Trot 5K will return to USU's Logan campus Friday, Nov. 11.

LOGAN, Utah — Utah State University Campus Recreation will host its second annual Turkey Trot 5K fun run and walk at 5:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 11. The race will begin at the Aggie Legacy Fields and usher racers throughout USU’s beautiful campus grounds.

The event is open to all USU students, faculty, staff and all members of the local community, limited to the first 100 racers who sign up. Community members and students who wish to participate as spectators or volunteers are also welcome.

Volunteers are needed for check-in, post-race food, water station, racecourse directors and the T-shirt table. Volunteers will receive a free shirt and also a post-race meal. Those interested in volunteering may contact Bailey Adams by emailing bailey.daniel.adams@usu.edu.

Prior to the race, USU Campus Recreation will also be collecting nonperishable food items from racers and spectators that will be donated to The Family Place. Desired items include easy-to-make meals for families and other goods such as pasta, canned vegetables and fruit, cake mix, pancake mix and other non-perishable items. Food donations can be dropped off at the check-in station of the race.

“We wanted to provide a little competition to the USU Community while at the same time making it a fun event for anyone,” said Amanda Bray, assistant director of healthy lifestyle programs & community engagement. “Also, we wanted to take the opportunity to give back to our local community by doing a nonperishable food drive for the Family Place. We hope to see you out there with your family and friends showing off your trot.”
