2024 U.S. Election Reflections Project: Share Your Voice, Shape Future Understanding

By Ben Dupuy |

LOGAN, Utah — Utah State University Libraries is once again inviting contributions for the U.S. Election Reflections Project in 2024. Participants are encouraged to share personal reflections, opinions or experiences through a brief survey that opened around the 2024 general election. This effort builds on a growing collection of over 200 reflections gathered during the 2016 presidential election and the 2018 midterms.

Participants may choose to submit written reflections through the survey at https://usu.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_7ZJC8a9YBMNLUA6. Responses can be submitted anonymously, and providing personal identifying information is optional.

Originally launched by Randy Williams to capture northern Utahns' reactions to the 2020 presidential election, this initiative is open to anyone who wants to share their perspective.

“With each collection cycle, we’re able to document a wider range of perspectives, showing the ways people in northern Utah are impacted by national politics and how they envision the future,” said Joe Kinzer, Community and Oral History Archivist and faculty member at USU Libraries. “This project preserves the complex, often nuanced views of our community for future generations to study.”

The U.S. Election Reflections Project builds on a collection of over 300 reflections gathered during the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections, as well as the 2018 midterms, all of which are available at https://digital.lib.usu.edu/digital/collection/p16944coll31.
