Prioritizing Life to Achieve Success at Work

The Utah Women & Leadership Project invites you step into a world of inspiration and empowerment by joining our 2025 ten-part webinar “Women in Leadership Executive Speaker Series.” This series is a celebration of dynamic and influential women who have shattered the glass ceiling landscape in Utah.

For our fourth webinar in this series, Dr. Susan R. Madsen will moderate a discussion with Kacie Malouf, co-founder of Malouf Companies, co-owner of Downeast, and co-founder of the PHASE Alliance and the Malouf Foundation, along with Trina Limpert, CEO and RizeNext Corp. and co-founder of Tech-Moms. Both women have been founders and CEOs and have impressive backgrounds in creating nonprofits. They have also managed and prioritized life so they can achieve success at work. This panel discussion will focus on the intersection of entrepreneurship, social justice, home and family, and following one’s heart and passions.

Join us for the FDIC’s information session on January 21 at 12 pm! The FDIC is seeking graduating seniors for Financial Institution Specialist roles in Salt Lake City and across the nation. They are also recruiting for paid internships opportunities for sophomores and juniors. Discover what a career at the FDIC could mean for you-pizza will be provided! The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is an independent agency established by Congress to uphold the stability and public trust in our financial system. Beyond insuring deposits, ,they conduct examinations to ensure that financial institiutions adhere to sound banking practices and comply with laws related to consumer protection, anti-discrimination, and community reinvestment.

Portfolio Building Workshop

Workshop/Training

The Portfolio Development Workshop helps students compile their class work, academic projects, internship experiences, and competition presentations into a single, marketable portfolio for job applications. Focused on showcasing skills gained in business courses, the event also emphasizes the value of involvement in research organizations like CAI, ASC, and Old Main Ventures. Collaborating with faculty, department heads, and career advisors from FJ Management Center, the workshop guides students in creating professional portfolios. Pizza will be provided!

Designing Corporate Women’s Networks, Initiatives, and Leadership Programs

Workshop/Training

This workshop is designed specifically for company representatives who are interested in creating, designing, developing, or restructuring women’s networks, groups, programs, and/or other initiatives in their organizations. Current and future leaders of women’s groups/networks and corporate leaders involved in these strategic initiatives are invited to participate. Based on the latest research, Dr. Susan R. Madsen will teach attendees about the types of efforts, programs, and designs have been showed to be effective in supporting and advancing women in workplace settings. There will be opportunities for attendees to share best practices and ideas as well. The afternoon will consist of engaging presentations, small group conversations, and individual activities. This Utah Women & Leadership Project (UWLP) offering is designed to provide attendees with 1) tools to design and development effective programs and initiatives, 2) opportunities to network with those doing similar work in other companies, and 3) resources to help Utah employees obtain additional career development experiences and opportunities in the community.
