Community Art Day

Student Activities

During this Community Art Day, join us to make a terrazzo-inspired art piece to celebrate Margaret Bruton and her work featured in the exhibition San Francisco the Golden Age 1930-1960: Making the Scene. Along with her two sisters, Esther and Helen, Margaret Bruton left her native San Francisco to study at the Art Students’ League in New York City. Known as the “Famous Bruton Sisters,” they were part of the Bohemian Renaissance in early twentieth-century San Francisco. This month we are partnering with Stokes Nature Center to highlight their impact on our community. They will be in attendance so you can learn more about their programs.
