The Utah Outdoor Adventure Commission is visiting different locations throughout the state to get local input about the most pressing concerns and most promising ideas related to outdoor recreation. These visits will inform the creations of the state’s first strategic plan examining how Utah can put its recreation and conservation resources to the best possible use.
Utah Water Watch Tier I Online Training
Workshop/Training
Utah Water Watch (UWW) is a volunteer water quality monitoring program. Our goal is to empower Utahns to learn and share knowledge about their local watersheds and practice good stewardship. Data collected is shared in a public database and with local water managers. UWW is a free program and is open to volunteers of all ages. Volunteering is a fun way to learn more about water quality and help protect lakes and streams in Utah! There are 3 steps to become a volunteer: 1. Fill out the volunteer registration form. You only need to fill out this form once. 2. Attend a workshop and become certified (click the orange "Reserve a spot" button to register for this specific training). 3. Work with the coordinator to choose a site to monitor. For more information, please visit our Utah Water Watch website. SER Pollinator Garden Stewardship Event

Join us Friday, June 9, 4-6 pm for a pollinator garden stewardship event at the Bear River Land Conservancy’s Mendon Meadow Preserve In September 2022, volunteers from the Great Basin and USU chapters of the Society for Ecological Restoration (SER) partnered with the Conservancy to establish pollinator-friendly plants in a part of the Preserve that had been invaded by non-native weeds. As part of SER’s Make A Difference Week, we will help maintain the site by removing weeds and assessing seedling survival after an unusually long, snowy winter. Utah Free Fishing Day

Everyone in Utah can fish for free, but please remember that all of the state's other fishing laws and rules still apply.
Bear River Celebration

The Bear River Celebration and Free Fishing Day is a free community event full of hands-on educational activities for youth and their families. Each year hundreds of youth participate and learn more about water quality, wildlife, plants, recreation, and fishing in the Bear River Watershed. Families have raved about the uniqueness, entertainment, and learning value that this celebration brings to the community.

How this hybrid training works: Join online Tuesday, June 20, 6-8 PM (you will recieve a Zoom link) AND Join in-person Saturday, June 24, 9:00 - 10:30 AM at the Swaner Preserve & EcoCenter (1258 Center Dr, Park City, UT 84098). We will be outside at the creek. Dress for the weather in clothes that can get a little dirty.
